HDP Peace rally in 16-Acre Alamdar Road - Friday July 18, 2003

Friday July 18, 2003 at 6:00pm Pakistan time, Hazara Democratic Party (HDP) held a big protest
rally in 16-Acre Alamdar Road Quetta to condemns the recent  terrorist attacks on Hazara nation by Al-Qaidah and her Pakistani fanatic terrorist counterparts, Sipah Sahaba Pakistan (SSP) and Lashkar Jhangvi.

Lashkar Jhangvi in a tape confession delivered to BBC News Service has accepted the responsibility of both the terrorist attacks on Hazara nation on June 8, 2003 in which 12 Hazara police cadets were killed and 9 others critically wounded in Sariab Road, and the second bloody attack on July 4, 2003 on worshippers during friday prayers in Hazara imambargah killing 53 on the spot and injuring more then 60 people.

Hazara Democratic Party (HDP) came into being soon after the recent attacks to fill the political vaccum and play a strategic role in working hand-in-hand with other political forces in Pakistan to rid these elements from Pakistan. The gathering condemned the ignorance of Local (State) and Federal Government towards the arresting of responsible groups. In this large gathering the HDP chairman Jawad Easar, Secretary General Mohammad Ibrahim Hazara, Vice Chairman Hussain Yousufi, Press Secretary Hassan Raza Changezi and President of HSF delivered their speeches and highlighted the different aspects of these terrorist attacks against the Hazara nation. They pointed out that because the Hazara nation is playing a key role against the all the fanatic terrorist groups in the Afghanistan and also is in favor of crackdown against all such groups including Shiite fantic groups, therefore, the Al-Qaidah and her other terrorist allies in Pakistan have started targeting Hazara nation. They emphasized that the Hazara nation will never leave her activities in this regard.

At last, resolutions passed the following resolutions:-

  1. We strongly condemns all kinds of fanatic terrorists.
  2. We strongly demand that the Government of Pakistan start an unprecedented crackdown against all the fanatic terrorist groups
  3. We demand the resignation of Provincial Government on their failure to protect the lives of innocent civilians in these bloody attacks
     

 

Peace rally by HDP and all major Political parties in Pakistan ... Saturday, July 19, 2003

HDP managed a very big protest rally against these terrorist attacks. The rally started at 4:00 pm from Alamdar road infront of HDP Central Office and went to Alamdar road via Khartar Road Momin abad, then to Nasir abad and back on Alamdar road. Thousands of protestors marched on to the downtown area in Quetta - Mezan Chowk, Qandahari Bazzar, Manan Chowk, and press club road.

A large number of protestors from Pashtoon Khawa Awamy Party (PAP), Balochistan National Party (BNP), Balochistan National Movement (BNM), Jamhuri Watan Party (JWP) and Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) participated in the rally. The combined rally again entered the Qadahari Bazar,Mezan Chowk,Liaqat bazzar,Prince road, Jinnah road and then press club road.

Speakers, Mohammad Ibrahim Hazara (HDP), Senator Akram Shah (PAP), Ex-Senator Habib Jalib (BNP), Mhrab Mari (BNM), Jawed Ahmed (PPP) and president of Balochistan Traders Association, Amaruddin Agha delivered speeches and strongly condemned all forms of religious extremism. They also criticized the negative role of Federal and Provincial Governments and demanded for a quick action and crackdown against these religious extremist groups.

The rally ended peacefully before the central office of HDP.
