Note About Statistics :
Accuracy   95%.
Margin of Error +/- 5%

1. It is not possible to collect 100% accurate figure of Hazara students studying at various institutions because a large number of Hazara students also study at different schools in Quetta and surroundings.

2. In co-educational institutions, it is also not possible to figure out correct number of girls and boys students. However, according to our knowledge/survey at least 30% of students are believed to be girls. And out of nearly 35,000 Hazara students, girls are 15,000.

3. It is worth noting that Hazara girls students have larger number than boys in government institutions while in private sector the situation is quite opposite. It shows minor discrimination towards girls because private schools demand fees while government institutions are free.

4. Despite these facts, girls are larger in  numbers in colleges and higher institutions compare to boys. It is worth noting that  the Quota System in the province discourages competition. Girls in general, study harder then boys and therefore if seats were to be awarded according to merit, they would have a higher percentage of the seats in the higher institutions. It is possible that the higher number of girls in schools are due to the lack of job opportunity.

5. Hazara Afghan refugees inspite of prevailing hurdles, have 12 institutions including one college (Laisa-e-Noor). Students studying at Hazarajat (Afghanistan) mostly  join the college by the name of Institute-e-Uloom which provides computer knowledge besides routine courses and also provides hostel facilities running under the leadership of famous Hazara lady social worker Dr. Sema Samar.

About Dr. Sema Samar:
Dr. Samar despite the unfavorable circumstances created by illiterate fanatic Taliban, runs 47 girls and boys institutions including one girls and one boys college in all over Hazarajat, having nearly twenty thousand students.

6. The population of Hazaras in Quetta is nearly 200,000 to 220,000 according to 1998 census. There are over 45,000 listed voters in Alamdar Road and Hazara Town.
